MWC is just around the corner! To help you make the most of your experience at this monster mobile event I have put together a list of key MEC PoC’s and Demos you shouldn’t miss if you are in Barcelona next week.

What will you see?

MEC Demo: Showcasing zone applications for connected venues (using stadiums as an example)
What will you see? Edge video orchestration, user engagement and object tracking

MEC Demo:OpenEPC including distributed Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) deployment of EPC for IoT and public safety
What will you see?
- Public safety with a distributed EPC providing increased resilience using a distributed core network with a unique horizontal handover of sessions as subscribers roam between EPCs
- Internet of Things (IoT) use case where a distributed EPC at the edge of the mobile network avoid backhaul and reduces latency by keeping local traffic local

MEC Demo:ACS will showcase SpiderCloud’s MEC platform
What will you see? ACS, with its client and carrier ready integrated offering, will demonstrate VoLTE Unified Communications, presence enabled digital media, Local IP Access (LIPA), fixed mobile convergence, Mobile Video Capture and content caching. The demonstration showcases enterprise IT integrating their applications and creating a seamless, mobile user experience

MEC Demo: Mobile Edge Computing Gateway (MECG) demo
What will you see? The MECG offers valuable added value to any LTE (and beyond) network by performing the following functionality:
- Offloading the LTE network core load
- Scheduling mechanism which optimizes network resources
- Location-based added-value : Marketing, Sales, Law enforcement, traffic control
- Improving traffic by traffic “sensing : monitoring, auditing, QoS and accounting based on DPI
- Data acceleration for value-added services : Pre-loaded and pre-charged voice and video
